Joe M. Grant is a founding and managing member of Marshall Socarras Grant, P.L.  Mr. Grant is AV Preeminent® Rated by Martindale-Hubbell and concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial litigation, corporate law, and bankruptcy law.  He has represented  debtors, creditors, trustees, lenders, funds, and buyers and sellers of assets in the areas of insolvency, secured transactions, real estate and business transactions and litigation.  Further, Mr. Grant has represented businesses and financial institutions in connection with equipment leasing and general corporate transactions.

Mr. Grant has also negotiated and prepared the transactional documents for commercial business transactions, including purchase and sale agreements, equipment leasing, financing, corporate formation and stock sales. In addition, Mr. Grant has litigated many types of business disputes, including business torts, real property foreclosures and title claims, lender liability, Uniform Commercial Code, including Article 2 and Article 9, franchise disputes, landlord/tenant actions, homeowners’ and condominium association disputes, and construction litigation involving design defect claims, construction liens, payment disputes and insurance claims.

Mr. Grant is a graduate of Leadership Fort Lauderdale Class XII, which is sponsored by the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Grant served as a past Committee Chair for Education Day for Leadership Fort Lauderdale’s Class XV.  He is admitted to practice before the United States District Court (Southern District, Middle District and Northern District of Florida), as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit.  Recently, Mr. Grant was  selected as one of Florida’s Legal Elite by Florida Trend in 2016.  Mr. Grant is a member of the Florida Bar, the Broward County Bar Association and the Bankruptcy Bar Association for the Southern District of Florida.   He has practiced since 1998 and has lived in Florida since 1983.
